Greetings Everyone! a very productive month with favourable weather conditions, delivering 68 mm of rain for the month of May, (40mm in the last few days).
A great start with the Gayndah Orange Festival being a success, with many thanks to all volunteers and supporters.

The following week a very successful official opening of the “Art on the Trail” project. Congratulations and thanks go out to our North Burnett Regional Council’s RADF committee, Jane and all gallery members and artists along with our BBIRT volunteers. Very gratifying to see our BBIRT members from away in attendance along with a great representation from the community, Thanks to everyone involved!!!!

Accessing the QR code for the birds along the trail is truly wonderful!

Trail maintenance (for an enjoyable experience) also was necessary for the Bike4Burns annual charity fundraising ride from Eidsvold to Gayndah utilising our Burnett River Bridges section of the trail.
Our communities were very proud to be able to assist with the ride, many Thanks to Mr. Beau Hanlon and our regional commander Iain Thomson of the QFES.

Normal trail maintenance with mowing, brush cutting, spraying and trail enhancement with the placing of a seat on the trail between Mount Debateable and Humphery took place. Our white cedar tree’s leaves are turning golden in their Autumn hue, in the area where we placed the seat.
Trail maintenance at Mundubbera back to Philpott Bridge took place.
Philpott Siding tidy up has commenced with the removal of old fencing which will allow for the placement of a new fence to reinstate the integrity of the siding back West to Philpott bridge. A noticeable track can now be seen to the river utilising Harding’s Lane from the siding.
Frost guards have been placed at sidings for susceptible tree protection for the coming Winter period. An interesting project with their manufacture!!
Many Thanks!!! To Doug, Wayne, all volunteers and supporters for your assistance and encouragement.
Volunteers for all aspects of trail involvement are most welcome, please become involved with our great Communities project.
Until next month
Regards
Mike
