Burnett River Bridges Report December 2025

Greetings everyone! sincerely hoping that you are enjoying the festive season! The weather has been more favourable in the last part of the month. Rainfall has occurred with 104mm falling for the month.

Trail maintenance has taken place with a contractor, spraying and cut stump treatment of rogue leucaena, lantana, around Faith Bridge, corridor and Stone Pitched Wall at Mount Deabateable, results will be evident in the near future.

Infrastructure repairs and maintenance has taken place by volunteers at the ex. track maintenance depot at Gayndah, with weather proofing by fixing windows on the dongas buildings.

Trail maintenance with the ZT mower has taken place Reid’s Creek back to Mount Debateable also utilising Waynes much valued battery powered reciprocating saw for the removal of trees on the trail.

Contractor Dan has slashed the adventure section of our trail Boomerang to Slab Creek, this took place a week before Christmas, early morning times by trail users would be most favourable for activities.

Special surprise when Santa came on the ZT and mowed and whipper snipped the Trail Hub grounds and Works complex along with footpath verges ready for holiday season, Thanks Santa!!!!  a muchly appreciated Christmas gift!!

With all the assets of our trail presenting themselves it would be encouraging for the community to take ownership of some small area of interest for trail enhancement, i.e. stone pitched walls, bridges, sidings, landscape, flora and fauna, wildlife corridors, signage, infrastructure and many more interesting aspects of our trail.

This year has seen a great commitment from our volunteers going above and beyond with their input and vision for what is a truly wonderful asset for our communities.

I would like to sincerely Thank everyone for their support and encouragement for the past years efforts.

Happiest and Healthiest New Year for Everyone!!!!!!

Cheers!!! Mike   Volunteer BBIRT
