Burnett River Bridges Report April 2025

Greetings everyone! Early April delivered 55mm of rain, a watering was needed at the rehabilitation and seasonal wetland area at Mount Debateable as the rest of the month was dry.

February, March, April was very busy with slashings from Mundubbera to Reid’s Creek by our contractors for maintenance and upcoming Orange Festival on the May Day weekend and “Ride4Burns” taking place on Tuesday the 13th of May on the Mundubbera to Mount Debateable Section of trail. Come along and cheer them on if you have time. The group will be overnighting at Eidsvold and Gayndah, it will be a great opportunity to make the riders welcome and view their bikes at both townships.

Our Art on the trail project is nearing completion with the official opening on Saturday the 10th of May, we hope you have time to view these wonderful paintings.

Our Burnett River Bridges section of trail has had many visitors this month, with counters giving us the much needed data for future planning.

Interest is growing for the Gayndah Biggenden section of corridor for possible rail trail development in the future.

A reminder that our BBIRT organisation is registered as a Voluntary Work Organisation, with much needed volunteers for our trail and all its meaningful possibilities, development and enjoyment for the communities, if you know of someone please encourage them to join in our journey.

Work was carried out this month with many varied projects, our high lights are of course being in the bush for our smoko time under trees which we have planted.

Looking forward to catching up this month!

A Big Thank You to all the volunteers and supporters of our trail!!

Regards

Mike Goebel
